BACK TO ARTWORK Artist's Biography Rudy came to this country as a young man, from Germany. He always loved to work with his hands. He started out by making fine furniture, tables, grandfather clocks and much more. Twenty-five years ago, he began wood turning developing a great passion for the medium which he finds intriguing and now makes it a full time focus for his art. Woodturning truly brings out the artist in Rudy which is evident in the beautiful designs he forges from the precious woods his pieces are turned from. A few years ago, Rudy’s passion took a new turn when he read about wood turners turning alabaster. He has now added elegant vessels from both Colorado and Italian alabaster to his growing body of work. Rudy lives in Munster, Indiana. He is a member of the American Association of Wood Turners and the Northwest Indiana Wood Turners Association. His work has been exhibited at Indiana University and at many other venues in NWI.
