BACK TO ARTWORK Artist's Statement "Painting has always been a spiritual experience for me, recording details often missed by the casual nature observer, so viewers will become more aware of Natures’ presence in their lives. After teaching and raising my family, I began expressing my passion for nature through drawing and painting. In the mid 1980’s my work in oils and watercolors was very realistic, following the style of my paternal relatives. More recently, realistic painting combined with a variety of experimental techniques has been very liberating, freeing my spirit to discover nature hiding in paints and inks. Sometimes the inks are poured at 10-20 degrees. Or a variety of resists are used to create interesting textures and patterns." Carol has exhibited her work in many solo and group exhibits in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin including a recent exhibit at a Michigan senators’ office in Washington, D.C. and a Wisconsin representative’s office in Madison. Her work also resides in many private collections in the US and a number of corporate collections in the Midwest.
