ARTIST STATMENT
I consider myself somewhat of a prospector; a person who is searching for interesting and beautiful, but largely unnoticed compositions that are all around us every day. People can get so absorbed in their lives that they may only see what is relevant to their current priority even to the extent of walking while texting and at the same time, blocking out sounds of the environment with earphones pumping out music or some podcast.
In the midst of this, I stop and look at things; really look. Sometimes I find beauty in a railroad track at sunset; sometimes it’s a flower, or a reflection, or a shadow. On other occasions I look at the world from the perspective of life rushing by, or perhaps, conceive of a surreal landscape made up of various elements from different environments.
It’s amazing what can be seen when you really look.
